# What is AlgoWIFI AlgoWIFI - where adv meets blockchain. **AlgoWIFI** is a digital billboard system that changes online advertising making it safe, easy and fast for publications and payments by creating a circuit based on the Algorand blockchain. **AlgoWIFi** is the platform that combines the transparency of blockchain with online advertising. **Why AlgoWIFI ?** **AlgoWIFI** was created mainly to enhance advertising on public and private wifi hot-spots during the access and connection phase to the internet. There are several ways in which AlgoWIFI works. If installed on an access point, during the access phase an image is displayed in the captive portal. The main actors of the platform are the Publishers / Sponsors / Vendors and HotSpotters. AlgoWIFI puts operators in direct contact with the market. # Publisher Publishers are those professionals which create and promote advertising campaigns, by using AlgoWiFi they ensure their ads are viewed and registered within the blockchain.\ For example:
A publisher purchases a package of 10k views from AlgoWifi; * They create the advertising campaign; * They select the HotSpotters, found in AlgoWifi's lists, which will host the advertisements; * The campaign is published and started following the authorisation process by AlgoWifi, in order to comply with legislation. # HotSpotter HotSpotters are the owners and/or hosts of Hotspots/Websites/Domestic Networks who work in direct contact with Publishers via AlgoWifi, by offering the advertising space required from which they earn. # Economic Model # Algorand Blockchain Pure Proof of Stake. Designed by MIT professor and Turing Award winning cryptographer [Silvio Micali](https://www.linkedin.com/in/silvio-micali-26bb37152/) – is uniquely capable of delivering on the promise of a borderless global economy. **Why** **Algorand.** It achieves transaction throughputs at the speed of traditional finance, but with immediate finality, near zero transaction costs, and on a 24/7 basis. In traditional finance, trading assets generally requires a trusted intermediary, like a bank or an exchange, to make sure that both sides receive what they agreed to. All transactions will be carried out with this address that you can follow with [AlgoExplorer](https://testnet.algoexplorer.io/) or [Pera Wallet. ](https://perawallet.app/) If you are a HotSpotter, a specific **NFT** is generated for your Access Point or website. AlgoWIFI will pay the revenues to the owner of this NFT. In the future, it will be possible to transfer your NFT to others. If you are a Publisher, this address will be used to pay for the campaign to all actors and you can follow it in real time even on the blockchain through AlgoExplorer or Pera Wallet. # Reserve Address Earn rewards even when there are no campaigns. The purpose of the reserve account is to guarantee revenue for the hotspotters even when there are no campaigns. In this case, an AlgoWIFI [institutional campaign](/campaign/default-campaign) will be displayed which will be enhanced anyway. The mechanism is very simple: for each view, the system sets aside 10% of the campaign value which integrates the value made available by AlgoWIFI every beginning of the calendar year.
